About Us
more than just a venue

Our History
Some places are built for show. Others are shaped by the land itself.
The Tack Shed on Bridal Bay is a little bit of both – a humble, heart-tugging kind of place, resting on land that’s long been regarded as sacred.
Out here, the land tells the story long before we do. The peaks—named for a legendary Ute warrior—have watched centuries unfold. The lake has carried more memories than anyone could count. And along its quiet, sandy shoreline, a simple tack shed found a new purpose: to become a place where people come to celebrate some of life's most precious moments.

Our Story
The Tack Shed began simply, as part of Lake City’s everyday life – a working tack shed where bridles hung, horses were saddled, and muddy boots crossed the threshold. Time softened its edges, but the character stayed.
When it came time to give it new life, we didn’t try to reinvent what it was. We kept its spirit intact and built around it with intention.
Today, The Tack Shed on Bridal Bay is for people who value what’s real. For couples who want their wedding to feel like them—genuine, relaxed, and naturally beautiful. For families who see beauty not just in the view, but in the laughter, the stories, the generations gathered together by a lake that’s seen it all.
Here, it isn’t about putting on a production. It’s about belonging to the land, each other, and a moment you’ll remember long after the day is over.
Every wedding, every photograph, every echo of a vow becomes part of this place’s living story. And in the stillness of golden hour, you can feel the ones that came before.

Meet Christine & Derek Fletcher
We’re Christine and Derek Fletcher—a former collegiate competitive water skier from the Lake of the Ozarks and a lifelong Texas angler. Water has always been home for both of us, and that pull eventually led us to this corner of Colorado.
We’ve always believed the best moments happen outdoors, where things are easy, unpolished, and surrounded by the kind of beauty you don’t have to dress up. The Tack Shed reflects that.
You’re not stepping into a business, you’re stepping into the place we’re grateful to call home. Today, we’re honored to share it with couples as they begin their forever life together.

The lake is calling and I must go!
